Moroccan Diva Najat Aatabou & Sorcery

Moroccan Diva Najat Atabou, whom I had the pleasure of interviewing on Nessma TV, has recently been embroiled in a whirlwind of controversy. A video of a radio interview has emerged, where she shockingly confessed to having an addiction to seeking advice from witches. Yes, you heard it right, witches! Najat responded to a question from a Moroccan journalist on a popular national radio show regarding her association with sorceresses. To everyone's astonishment, she openly confessed to being utterly captivated by fortune tellers, going to great lengths to seek out each and everyone she came across. Najat stated that she visited the witches to determine if her husband loved her, indicating that curiosity drove her to seek out the sorceress. This video gained widespread attention on social media, with many people expressing admiration for Najat's courage in openly acknowledging her visit to the "witches." However, many others believed that, given the context of Moroccan hypocrisy, revealing the acknowledgment of sorcery should not have been done, mainly because visits to charlatans are considered taboo. #Najataatabou, the Moroccan singer, deserves acknowledgment and respect for her bravery in openly admitting her multiple visits to witches, a practice that many of her fellow artists in Morocco keep hidden.
